Ried Spiegel Grüner Veltliner 2018 and Ried Hasel Riesling 2018 got awarded Gold at this year’s Millesime Bio Challenge 2020, an international organic wine challenge. We are really happy about this success.
We are very happy about the results of the 10th grand international organic wine award 2019 in Germany. Top Gold for our sweet wine Trockenbeerenauslese 2015 and Gold for our natural sparkling Rosé Ancestral 2018.

Very happy about the results of Millesime Bio Challenge 2019. Our Ried Spiegel Grüner Veltliner 2017 Kamptal DAC was awarded a gold medal. We are stunned!
Another nice surprise was the tasting of Andreas Larsson and the team of blindtasted.com, which rated our “Ried Hasel Riesling 2017” 94 of 100 points. We are very happy about the result.
We found our Single Vineyard Kamptal Grüner Veltliner Ried Spiegel highly rated among other high-end Grüner Veltliner of Austria. The tasting was done by the Wine Magazine Vinaria which compared the majority of Austrian Grüner Veltliner.

Harvest 2018 is done and it was both challenging and interesting. After a decent growing season, without any inconvenient interference like frost or hail, we were getting into the harvesting period with very high temperatures. The accelerated ripeness led to a very early harvesting start. We picked the first grapes for our sparkling wines in August and we were continuing the harvest from that moment on, to mainly retain the freshness through higher acid levels in the wines. A few rainy days in the end of September put a damper on the quick ripening, however, we still kept on going picking to not be surprised by unwanted botrytis or rot.
All in all we are satisfied with the results and are looking forward to show first wines in the beginning of 2019. The wines can rest for now.

“Bright light golden colour. Pure nose offering fresh pear, peach, some floral and mildly spicy notes. The palate has a good grip, medium to full with a healthy dose of acidity, fine extract, elegant stone fruit and a long pure finish.” -ANDREAS LARSSON

Kittmannsberg Grüner Veltliner, Spiegel Grüner Veltliner and Haasel Riesling vintage 2016 have been bottled. Due to customers loving our previous vintages we are glad to go on bottling our single vineyard wines separately. The soil of the vineyard, riped grapes and low interference, but still enough time in our wine cellar, are the basis for our “Lagenweine”. Together with Rotburger 2015 the wines will be available as of September 2017.
