    Summer in the vineyard

Starting in May, things get busy in the vineyard. The shoots are growing, and we shape the canopy by removing excess shoots. For us, a loose canopy is an important preventive measure to protect the leaves and grapes from disease. A lot of manual labor and countless hours in the vineyard, no herbicides, and no synthetic fertilizers. That is the foundation of our authentic artisanal wines.

Due to the cool weather, the growing season began later than in previous years, allowing the vines to survive the critical frost periods unscathed. Following a dry spell, timely rainfall combined with rising temperatures ensured optimal development in the vineyard. After an average flowering period in mid-June, the main harvest began in early September. The harvest period spanned five weeks and was marked by changeable weather conditions. In this challenging environment, the intensive, manual leaf work in the summer and the careful hand-selection proved to be decisive quality factors for this vintage.
