Very happy about the results of Millesime Bio Challenge 2019. Our Ried Spiegel Grüner Veltliner 2017 Kamptal DAC was awarded a gold medal. We are stunned!
Another nice surprise was the tasting of Andreas Larsson and the team of blindtasted.com, which rated our “Ried Hasel Riesling 2017” 94 of 100 points. We are very happy about the result.
We found our Single Vineyard Kamptal Grüner Veltliner Ried Spiegel highly rated among other high-end Grüner Veltliner of Austria. The tasting was done by the Wine Magazine Vinaria which compared the majority of Austrian Grüner Veltliner.
We are very happy about the results!
Harvest 2018 is done and it was both challenging and interesting. After a decent growing season, without any inconvenient interference like frost or hail, we were getting into the harvesting period with very high temperatures. The accelerated ripeness led to a very early harvesting start. We picked the first grapes for our sparkling wines in August and we were continuing the harvest from that moment on, to mainly retain the freshness through higher acid levels in the wines. A few rainy days in the end of September put a damper on the quick ripening, however, we still kept on going picking to not be surprised by unwanted botrytis or rot.
All in all we are satisfied with the results and are looking forward to show first wines in the beginning of 2019. The wines can rest for now.
We are happy about the 92 points rating of our Single Vineyard Kittmannsberg Grüner Veltliner 2016 by ANDREAS LARSSON on “blindtasted.com”.
“Bright light golden colour. Pure nose offering fresh pear, peach, some floral and mildly spicy notes. The palate has a good grip, medium to full with a healthy dose of acidity, fine extract, elegant stone fruit and a long pure finish.” -ANDREAS LARSSON

Kittmannsberg Grüner Veltliner, Spiegel Grüner Veltliner and Haasel Riesling vintage 2016 have been bottled. Due to customers loving our previous vintages we are glad to go on bottling our single vineyard wines separately. The soil of the vineyard, riped grapes and low interference, but still enough time in our wine cellar, are the basis for our “Lagenweine”. Together with Rotburger 2015 the wines will be available as of September 2017.
The end of the year 2016 is coming and we are proudly looking back on our awarded wines. Our “Ortswein” Langenlois Grüner Veltliner Löss won Gold in a regional tasting as well as reached third place at the Kamptal Cup. In 2014 we started to bottle our single vineyards separately and the first feedback was very positive: Kittmannsberg reached IWC Silver and Silver at die Bioweinpreis in Germany. Single Vineyard Spiegel Grüner Veltliner 2015 got 91 Points from the Falstaff Magazine and Haasel Riesling 90 Points from the A la Carte Magazine. Chardonnay Zeitlos 2015 stand out as 2nd place at the Langenlois Champion. Likewise our Rotburger 2014 in the category “Zweigelt”.
