On Thursday we startet harvesting our first grapes. A perfect day with a lot of sunshine and a nice view over Langenlois.
We are happy that we had two wines awarded in the regional blind tasting of Langenlois. Our wine Chardonnay Zeitlos 2015 reached the second place amog other Chardonnays and Pinot blancs. In the tasting Rotburger 2014, our Zweigelt in Barrique, was seen as third best Zweigelt. We are really happy about the results and looking forward to intruduce these two wines to you soon.
Our Grüner Veltliner Kittmannsberg 2014 got a silver Medal at the organic wine tasting Biowein-Preis in Germany. We are happy!
Stefan is in Chile right now to get more experience in wine making abroad. Even though Norbert and Stefan can look back on a long history of experience in the Rosner winery, both believe that lifelong learning is the most important thing to produce excellent wines.
The winery Millaman produces mainly red wines with well-known varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot. A very young and dynamic team in the winery produces top wines. In 2015 Casa Millman was awarded to be “best in show” in a Chilean wine tasting.
“It is a very good experience for me. I can learn about winemaking as well as the culture, which is great.”, says Stefan.
During the last week of April we were setting hay on fire to produce smoke in order to protect the young sprouts of our vines from the cold. Thanks to a good community of winery owners in the region of Langenlois we were able to fight against this frosty risk. The result will be seen in a few days.

In a regional blind wine competition in Langenlois our Blauer Zweigelt 2014 was awarded best of its kind. We are happy for this rewarding feedback for our work.
We are bottling the first classical wines of vintage 2015. They will be available online shortly.
All across Langenlois people are pruning their vines. We also started cutting back to prepare the vine for the next season.
For the last couple of weeks we were pruning our grapes. Here is a picture of a nice and frosty day.
